The opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to take genuine ownership of a key component of the firm's Knowledge & Digital Intelligence strategy while working alongside senior leadership to influence the future direction of legal intelligence across the firm.

You will help develop practical and scalable approaches to knowledge management, legal research, and information governance, ensuring lawyers have access to trusted, high-quality information and AI-ready knowledge assets when they need them most.

Reporting to the Head of Legal and Digital Intelligence, Simon Hill, you will work at the intersection of legal knowledge, technology and AI. Together, you will improve existing processes, develop scalable knowledge solutions, enhance information governance and support AI-powered initiatives that are shaping the future of legal service delivery.

This is a national role, and we are open to candidates based in Melbourne (preferred) or Sydney.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver key components of the firm's Knowledge & Technology Strategy.
  • Lead the development, governance and continuous improvement of the firm's precedents, templates and legal know-how.
  • Drive the capture, curation and governance of legal knowledge across practice groups.
  • Oversee legal research services, subscriptions and information resources.
  • Manage the firm's intranet, knowledge repositories and document standards.
  • Support and train lawyers in the effective use of knowledge systems and tools.
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve how legal knowledge is shared, maintained and utilised.
  • Partner with the Digital Intelligence team to support AI-enabled knowledge initiatives, information governance and the development of trusted knowledge assets.

About you

Success in this role will come from balancing strong knowledge management foundations with a passion for innovation, artificial intelligence and the practical application of technology to real legal problems.

  • Experience in knowledge management, legal operations, legal innovation, legal technology, legal research or a related discipline.
  • Passionate about the future of legal knowledge, legal intelligence, digital transformation and the role technology play in modern legal service delivery.
  • Naturally curious, proactive and innovative, with a track record of identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and the user experience.
  • Ability to translate complex legal or technical concepts into practical, user-friendly solutions.
  • An interest in information governance, knowledge systems and the evolving role of artificial intelligence within legal practice.
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, evolving environment.

We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds, including lawyers, knowledge professionals and those with demonstrated technical capability working alongside legal teams.

What we offer

  • Work-Life Balance: We offer flexible work arrangements to support your work-life balance.
  • Location: We have cutting-edge offices conveniently located in the heart of the Melbourne CBD and Sydney CBD amidst a fast-pace, high-networking legal community. Enjoy working in a state-of-the-art office environment with access to modern end of trip facilities.
