The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Trust Accounts Officer to join our National Finance team. We have a friendly team culture, and our Business Services team is at the core of our success. The role is fast paced and will suit someone with demonstrated experience processing a high volume of data with strong accuracy.
You'll be busy with
- processing of trust account transactions (receipts, payments, PEXA settlements)
- trust account reconciliations
- processing and reconciliation of controlled money in the practice management system
- manage trust account records in accordance with statutory requirements
- periodic reporting of the trust account, filing, lodgements and liaising with auditors
- training of trust processes and accounting program to staff and communications with the wider firm stakeholders
To succeed in this role, ideally you'll have
- 2+ years' experience preferably within a law firm environment
- experience in trust accounting, legal, finance or similar industry accounts operations
- understanding of Australian trust accounting regulations (law society rules)
- excellent accuracy with processing volume
- strong time management, attention to detail and organisational skills
- experience with our practice management system (Aderant) is advantageous, plus intermediate skills in Microsoft Office
- experience in a national or large multi-office firm
- knowledge of property settlements and PEXA processing
- exposure to trust account audits and regulatory reporting
