The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Litigation Lawyer to join our highly regarded and growing Darwin office. Working within a close-knit and collaborative team, you will gain exposure to a diverse range of matters across commercial litigation, medical negligence, estate disputes, historical abuse and institutional liability, workers' compensation, banking and finance, and construction disputes.

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-profile matters for government agencies, major institutions, ASX-listed companies, and private sector clients. In this role, you will work with a diverse client base including government bodies, ASX-listed companies, financial institutions, and private enterprises. You will benefit from direct client access and the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across our national network. You will be involved in:

  • Commercial litigation and dispute resolution
  • Medical negligence disputes
  • Workers' compensation matters
  • Banking and finance disputes
  • Construction and infrastructure disputes
  • Contract disputes
  • Estate matters
  • Regulatory investigations
  • Administrative law and judicial review matters
  • Child welfare work
  • Historical abuse and institutional liability claims
  • Insolvency and debt recovery
  • Employment dispute resolution
  • Native title dispute resolution

To succeed in this role, ideally you'll have:

  • 2+ years PAE within commercial litigation;
  • experience advising and representing clients in high-stakes disputes;
  • exposure to the Northern Territory jurisdiction is desirable but not essential;
  • strong advocacy and negotiation skills; and
  • the ability to manage matters independently while working collaboratively within a team;
