Reporting to the National Finance Systems & Reporting Manager, you will work closely with Finance, IT and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, well‑governed system and reporting outcomes.
The Finance Systems and Report Specialist will be a key player in in supporting our firm wide practice management system. The Finance Systems team is comprised of 4 people responsible for support and maintenance of the practice management system, reporting and workflow system (Ivanti). In this role, you might see the following come across your desk:
- Provide day‑to‑day administration, support and troubleshooting for the Firm’s financial systems, primarily Aderant and associated integrations
- Act as the primary point of contact for finance system service requests and issue resolution
- Assist with system upgrades, maintenance and release planning, including vendor coordination and UAT
- Serve as a trusted liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors
- Design, develop and maintain financial and operational reports using SSRS
- Build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards, including:
- Strong data modelling
- Dataset, dataflow and semantic model management
- Workspace administration, row‑level security and app deployment
- Perform data analysis, cleansing and validation to support accurate decision‑making
- Write and optimise SQL queries and stored procedures
- Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions
- Identify system and process improvement opportunities and independently scope, implement and deliver enhancements
- Extend system functionality using APIs (optional), database development and integration tools
- Develop fit‑for‑purpose solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate to support data capture and workflow efficiency
- Customise Aderant screens, reports and inquiries using Expert and Ivanti (or Fresh Service) workflow tools
- Ensure high‑quality, well‑tested outputs with a focus on reliability and timely delivery
- Collaborate effectively with Finance, IT and business teams across the Firm
Ideally, you'll have
- Minimum 3 years’ experience supporting legal or professional services finance systems
- Hands‑on experience with Aderant or Elite 3E
- Strong SQL Server capability, including indexing, security and database maintenance
- Experience producing reports and responding to ad‑hoc analytical requests
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
- Proven ability to work independently on complex issues while collaborating effectively with others
- Experience with Power BI, Fabric, SSRS, Power Apps, Power Automate, Workflow applications, SSIS.
- Professional services or law firm environment experience a must.
- Calm, methodical problem solver with strong analytical judgement
- Clear and practical communicator, able to adapt messages for technical and non technical audiences
