The opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Personal Assistant to join our highly regarded Commonwealth Government Melbourne practice, led by Sarah Thompson. This team works in government and administrative law, conducting judicial and merits review on behalf of the Commonwealth government in a range of litigation matters. You will be supporting a local team of 5 lawyers and 2 paralegals and a national team of 3 Partners, 17 lawyers, 10 paralegals and 4 Personal Assistants. This is a unique opportunity to take your career to the next level and be a part of a growing practice.

You'll be busy with

  • assisting Partners and other allocated legal staff
  • matter management
  • preparation of correspondence and court documents
  • monthly billing using our file management system, Aderant
  • diary management, liaising with clients and other general administration

To succeed in this role, ideally you'll have

  • experience in assisting in managing a high volume litigation practice
  • experience supporting a Partner or executive
  • excellent grammar, spelling and attention to detail
  • strong time management and organisation skill
  • experience using Aderant and iManage (or similar) is highly desirable but not essential
