About us
HWLE is not your typical law firm. Our rapid rise to become the largest legal partnership in Australia shows that in our case, the differences are real. We deliver first class legal advice to our clients in every state and territory across Australia. Firm wide, we have over 270 Partners and 1700 people.
The opportunity
We have an opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join our Brisbane Property practice, working with Partner Jonathan East. As part of the team, you will provide legal advice to residential property developer and property owner clients in their transactions – whether it be a sale, development or acquisition. You will have the opportunity to assist our clients across a wide range of residential development property work, working on Queensland's largest residential and mixed use projects. You will be a key part of a successful team who work closely together to grow the national practice, share ideas and expertise, and deliver market-leading services to our large client base.
Day to day you'll be
- assisting on large scale residential land acquisition contracts and sales of development sites;
- project work such as drafting easements, developing management agreements and negotiation of acquisition documents on Queensland's largest residential and mixed use developments;
- manage lawyers by overseeing plan registrations including covenants and easements;
- organising property search due diligence reports on residential land projects; and
- supervising and mentoring junior lawyers.
Ideally, you'll bring
- at least 7+ years PAE;
- experience and expertise in residential property development law and property law (preferably QLD laws);
- excellent written and oral skills and ability to engage well with clients and colleagues;
- a passion for complex, diverse and dynamic work;
- strong leadership skills to assist in developing our junior cohort.
What we offer
- Great culture and a huge networking platform: Be part of a firm renowned for its friendly and down-to-earth culture. We also have sports clubs, social club and monthly firmwide drinks.
- Impact: Join a firm consistently ranked at the forefront of the Australian legal market, where your work is recognised nationally.
