The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Trust Accounts Officer to join our National Finance team. We have a friendly team culture, and our Business Services team is at the core of our success. The role is fast paced and will suit someone with demonstrated experience processing a high volume of data with strong accuracy.

 

 You'll be busy with

  • processing of trust account transactions (receipts, payments, PEXA settlements)
  • Investing client funds, managing investment maturities and reporting
  • trust account reconciliations
  • processing and reconciliation of controlled money in the practice management system
  • manage trust account records in accordance with statutory requirements
  • periodic reporting of the trust account, filing, lodgements and liaising with auditors; and
  • training of trust processes and accounting program to staff and communications with the wider firm stakeholders.

 

To succeed in this role, ideally you'll have

  • 2+ years' experience preferably within a law firm environment
  • experience in trust accounting, legal, finance or similar industry accounts operations.
  • understanding of Australian trust accounting regulations (law society rules).
  • excellent accuracy with processing volume
  • strong time management, attention to detail and organisational skills
  • experience with our practice management system (Aderant) is advantageous, plus intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
  • experience in a national or large multi-office firm.
  • knowledge of property settlements and PEXA processing.
  • exposure to trust account audits and regulatory reporting.
