The opportunity

We’re looking for a Credit Controller to join our national Finance team based in Melbourne. You will play a strategic role focusing on risk management, credit policies and cash flow. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure timely collections, minimise credit risk, and provide insights that support business decision making.

 

You'll be busy with

  • monitor and review of debtor positions, assessing overdue to reduce outstanding balances and improve debtor turnover days
  • working closely with Partners to track WIP and debtor balances, supporting consistent and timely billing practices
  • maintain client exposures within established credit limits and provide support managing WIP adjustments and bad debts
  • ensuring timely payment of debts including processing credit notes as required
  • actively investigating and resolving any disputes/queries within a timely and effective manner. Assisting with client payment plans
  • assisting with the firm's internal and external recovery process in conjunction with Partners and Management
  • provide guidance to staff and Partners on working capital management-related queries.
  • reporting to management and Partners on outstanding issues, highlighting potential debtor and WIP risk

 

To succeed in this role, ideally you will have

  • proven experience in Credit Control, with a strong understanding of collections and credit risk management
  • high level of accuracy and efficiency when processing high volumes
  • proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • experience with Aderant (preferred but not essential)
  • excellent time management, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills
  • clear and professional communication skills
