The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Officer to join our National Finance team. We have a friendly team culture, and our Business Services team is at the core of our success. The role is fast paced and will suit someone with demonstrated experience processing a high volume of data with strong accuracy. You'll be busy with:

  • leading and directing workflow within the team and problem-solving issues
  • processing of trust account transactions (receipts, payments, PEXA settlements)
  • trust account reconciliations
  • overseeing trust audit process
  • processing and reconciliation of controlled money in the practice management system
  • manage trust account records in accordance with statutory requirements
  • periodic reporting of the trust account, filing, lodgements; and
  • training of trust processes and accounting program to staff and communications with the wider firm stakeholders

 

To succeed in this role, ideally you'll have

  • 5+ years' experience, preferably within a law firm environment and familiarity with trust accounts
  • excellent accuracy with processing volume
  • strong time management, attention to detail, and organisational skills
  • experience with our practice management system (Aderant) is advantageous, strong Excel skills, plus intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
