The opportunity

We have an opportunity to join our highly regarded Construction & Infrastructure practice in Brisbane. You’ll be part of a sub-team of 15 lawyers specialising in all aspects of front-end and back-end construction, acting for a broad range of prominent clients across diverse projects. Working closely with Partners Colin Harris & Paul Gordon, you’ll be involved in:

  • Managing large-scale construction and infrastructure matters
  • Leading and advising on adjudications, arbitrations and civil proceedings
  • Gathering, assessing, and organising relevant evidence with a forensic mindset
  • Drafting detailed and strategic legal submissions
  • Applying a deep understanding of construction law to complex matters
  • Engaging directly with clients and provide commercially strategic advice
  • Service an existing client base with ongoing matters and significant workflow

This is a well-established and high-performing team with a strong, collaborative culture. The junior lawyers are highly capable, and the team benefits from extensive Partner experience.

To succeed in this role, ideally you'll have

  • ideally, 5+ years post admission experience
  • strong commercial litigation experience
  • excellent communication skills
  • significant exposure to, and interest in, construction law
  • strong drafting skills
  • commercial acumen and critical thinking capabilities
  • leadership skills to help develop our up-and-coming junior cohort
