The opportunity 

We have a unique opportunity for a candidate to join our impressive and highly regarded Brisbane Corporate practice working with Partner Brent Van Staden. We’re looking to appoint an Associate or Senior Associate into the Corporate, with a focus on capital markets, M&A, and general corporate advisory work. The role offers exposure to a broad mix of clients, including ASX-listed entities and growth-phase businesses, particularly in the resources and technology sectors. This is an amazing opportunity to work on top tier matters and collaborate with our prominent client base. 

Day-to-day, you'll be

  • exposed to ASX-listed clients and Corporations Act matters;
  • supporting clients on capital raising activities and related regulatory and compliance matters;
  • advising on regulated and unregulated M&A transactions; 
  • providing general corporate and commercial advice, including drafting and reviewing contracts, structuring advice, and governance matters; and
  • involved in transactional resources matters, including tenure reports, farm-ins/outs, joint ventures, royalty arrangements and project sales.

To succeed in this role, ideally, you'll have 

  • 3-5 years’ PAE with a strong grounding in corporate and commercial law; 
  • experience in advising on the ASX Listing Rules, capital markets, M&A, capital raising and corporate  advisory work; 
  • strong drafting skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines; 
  • strategic and critical thinking capabilities; and
  • confident, commercially minded, and capable of building trusted client relationships.
