The opportunity 

We have a unique opportunity for a candidate to join our impressive and highly regarded Brisbane Corporate practice working with Partner Brent Van Staden. We’re looking to appoint an Associate or Senior Associate into the Corporate practice, with a focus on capital markets, M&A, and general corporate advisory work. The role offers exposure to a broad mix of clients, including ASX-listed entities and growth-phase businesses, particularly in the resources and technology sectors. This is an amazing opportunity to work on top tier matters and collaborate with our prominent client base. 

Day-to-day, you'll be

  • exposed to ASX-listed clients and Corporations Act matters;
  • supporting clients on capital raising activities and related regulatory and compliance matters;
  • advising on regulated and unregulated M&A transactions; 
  • providing general corporate and commercial advice, including drafting and reviewing contracts, structuring advice, and governance matters; and
  • involved in transactional resources matters, including tenure reports, farm-ins/outs, joint ventures, royalty arrangements and project sales.

To succeed in this role, ideally, you'll have 

  • 3-5 years’ PAE with a strong grounding in corporate and commercial law; 
  • experience in advising on the ASX Listing Rules, capital markets, M&A, capital raising and corporate  advisory work; 
  • strong drafting skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines; 
  • strategic and critical thinking capabilities; and
  • confident, commercially minded, and capable of building trusted client relationships.
