The opportunity

We have a unique opportunity for a dynamic candidate seeking career advancement opportunities to join our impressive and highly regarded Sydney Corporate and Commercial Practice Group, working with Partner Maria Townsend and her team. As part of a close-knit team, you will work on an interesting and diverse mix of private M&A matters, with a focus on the automotive industry, general commercial work, and corporate advisory. This is a unique opportunity to take your career to the next level by working on high-value matters alongside an industry-leading team and a prominent client base, including large privately held corporate groups and public companies.

Accountabilities

  • direct client access and close collaboration with Partners
  • supervision and mentoring of junior solicitors
  • private M&A including drafting and negotiation of Business Sale Agreements, Share Sale Agreements, Shareholder Agreements, Loan and Security agreements, and other transactional documents.
  • advisory work including corporate governance and director duties advice as well as general commercial contract reviews and reviews and advice on automotive franchise and agency agreements

 

To succeed in this role, ideally you'll have

  • 5 + Years PQE
  • experience in general commercial and M&A work with exceptional drafting skills and attention to detail
  • property transaction and commercial lease experience is well regarded but not essential
  • ability to balance legal and commercial considerations in negotiations and drafting
  • good interpersonal skills to be able to deal with clients and other parties
  • desire to develop leadership skills to assist in developing our junior cohort
