The opportunity

Join Martin Downing, Melissa Hore and their team in continuing over a decade of success in providing national real estate portfolio management services in the retail, industrial and commercial industries. Become a senior lawyer in the team and an integral part of a hand-picked group of professionals within our Sydney office who specialise in this exciting growth area, where you will be working on leasing and development deals across Australia helping grow an increasing number of well known national and international brands.

Assist us in managing and continuing to provide quality client outcomes in tight time frames in complex and bespoke deals. The high-quality, fast-paced legal work for sophisticated clients, with hands-on mentoring and support from both Martin and Mel who between them have over 50 years' experience in the industry, will allow you to grow and develop your own skill sets.

Our size, range of experience, client base and financial model will provide you with the platform to expand and hone your existing skills as you help us draft and negotiate a variety of agreements. The role is an opportunity to work on top-tier matters, collaborate with our prominent client base, and assist in leading and developing our exceptional group of professionals.

To succeed in this role, ideally you'll have

  • 5+ years leasing experience as a solicitor (not necessarily retail)
  • ideally, with at least 50% exposure to tenant based leasing
  • good communication and language skills
  • some experience in delegation and junior management skills
  • a pro-active and inquisitive nature
  • organised and systematic
