The opportunity

Join our national finance team as a Commercial Analyst, supporting the firm’s financial performance through high‑quality reporting, analysis, and commercial insights. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll play a key role partnering closely with Practice Group Leaders, Partners, and senior leadership to drive informed decision‑making across the firm.

 

You'll be busy with

  • deliver monthly commercial reporting, including revenue, utilisation, fee‑earner performance, recoveries, and variance analysis.
  • analyse practice group, partner, client, and matter profitability to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • prepare and manage monthly production and utilisation reporting, ensuring accuracy of time recording and billing data.
  • contribute to monthly management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
  • support budgeting cycles, forecast updates, and monitoring of financial performance against targets.
  • provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and commercial insights to stakeholders across the firm.
  • work with finance systems to improve reporting accuracy, automation, and data integrity.
  • assist with month‑end processes, including revenue and WIP analysis.

 

To succeed in this role, ideally you'll have

  • 4+ years
  • demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience
  • experience with Aderant and Power Bi advantageous but not essential
  • ability to liaise with a multitude of stakeholders
  • excellent accuracy with processing high volume enquires
  • strong time management, attention to detail, and organisational skills
  • advanced Excel skills, including in Microsoft Office
