The opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Legal Learning Manager to lead the development and delivery of our legal learning strategy. This newly created role will be instrumental in shaping how our lawyers grow and develop throughout their careers, ensuring our firm remains at the forefront of legal excellence.

As Legal Learning Manager, you will collaborate with our practice groups to identify learning needs, design targeted legal training programs, and work in partnership with our People & Development team to ensure alignment with broader business skills and leadership development initiatives.

 

You'll be busy with

  • Strategy Development:
    Develop and implement a firm-wide legal learning strategy that supports career progression, technical excellence, and compliance with professional obligations.
  • Training Delivery:
    Design and deliver engaging legal training programs, including CPD-accredited sessions, workshops, and e-learning modules tailored to different career stages and practice areas.
  • Practice Group Engagement:
    Support Practice Groups to develop their legal learning strategies and foster cross practice group learning collaboration.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with the People & Development team to ensure legal learning complements business skills development and aligns with the firm’s overall talent strategy.
  • Evaluation & Reporting:
    Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives, using feedback and data to continuously improve programs.
  • External Engagement:
    Stay abreast of legal education trends and regulatory requirements and manage relationships with external training providers and professional bodies.

 

To succeed in the role, ideally you'll have

  • qualified lawyer with strong experience in legal education, professional development, or a related field within a law firm or legal organisation.
  • strong understanding of the Australian legal landscape and CPD requirements.
  • excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
  • strategic thinker with the ability to translate learning needs into impactful programs.
  • collaborative and confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • experience with learning technologies and digital content development is highly desirable.
