Our Brisbane Corporate and Commercial team comprises of 35 people across several speciality areas including but not limited to corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, commercial contracting, payments, technology and state & federal tax.
The opportunity
We have a unique opportunity for a candidate to join our impressive and highly regarded Brisbane Corporate & Commercial practice working with Partner Brent Van Staden. We’re looking to appoint a Senior Associate into the Corporate & Commercial team, with a focus on capital markets, M&A, and general corporate advisory work. The role offers exposure to a broad mix of clients, including ASX-listed entities and growth-phase businesses, particularly in the resources sector. This is an amazing opportunity to work on top tier matters and collaborate with our prominent client base.
Accountabilities
-
advising on regulated and unregulated M&A transactions
-
supporting clients on capital raising activities and related regulatory and compliance matters
-
providing general corporate and commercial advice, including drafting and reviewing contracts, structuring advice, and governance matters
-
exposure to ASX-listed clients and Corporations Act matters
-
a small element of IP or licensing work may also arise, depending on client needs
To succeed in this role, ideally, you'll have
-
3-5 years’ PAE with a strong grounding in corporate and commercial law
-
experience in M&A, capital markets, and/or general advisory work
-
strong drafting skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
-
strategic and critical thinking capabilities
-
confident, commercially minded, and capable of building trusted client relationships
-
strong leadership skills to assist in developing our junior cohort
