Our Melbourne Corporate & Commercial Practice Group comprises 70 people across a number of specialist practice areas. Our National Taxation Practice Group has 9 partners, 4 of whom are in Melbourne.

 

The opportunity

We have a unique opportunity to join our impressive and highly regarded Melbourne Taxation team working primarily with Ari Schachna, Yan Li Wang, Vincent Licciardi and other Tax experts across our national tax practice. You'll work with the team on an interesting mix of taxation matters, including income and capital gains tax, M&A transactions, financing transactions, due diligence, and trusts. You'll also be responsible for managing reviews, audits and litigation conducted by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

This is an opportunity to work on top tier matters with our prominent client base including government agencies, public and private companies, high net worth family groups and individuals both local and foreign, charities and not for profit organisations.

 

To succeed in the role, ideally you'll come

  • 4+ years PAE
  • solid experience in taxation law
  • tax disputes/litigation experience highly desirable
  • strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • open to candidates with an accounting background
