HWL Ebsworth is Australia's largest legal partnership, with offices in every state and territory in Australia, including over 270 Partners and more than 1,700 people. Our Melbourne Corporate & Commercial Practice Group comprises 70 people across a number of specialist practice areas. Our National Taxation Practice Group has 9 partners, 4 of whom are in Melbourne.

The opportunity

We have a unique opportunity to join our impressive and highly regarded Melbourne Taxation team working primarily with Yan Li Wang, Vincent Licciardi, and Ari Schachna. You'll work with the team on an interesting mix of taxation matters, including income and capital gains tax, M&A transactions, financing transactions, due diligence, and trusts. You'll also be responsible for managing reviews, audits and litigation conducted by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). 

This is an opportunity to work on top tier matters with our prominent client base including public and private companies, high net worth family groups and individuals both local and foreign, charities and not for profit organisations. 

To succeed in the role, ideally you will have

• 3+ years PAE
• experience with taxation law (dedicated experience in any of the above areas desirable)
• strategic and critical thinking capabilities
• strong analytical skills 
• accounting background desirable
